Off the Leash with JR – he is back!

Our clients’ tails – The Leash is Yours!

JR standing tall!

Approximately four years ago our dog, JR could not walk or even stand due to a bad back.  According to the veterinarian, JR had 5 bad vertebrae in his back.  Due to JR’s condition and the suffering he was experiencing, my wife and I were considering putting JR to sleep – he was not enjoying life and we did not want him to suffer anymore.

The veterinarian at Harden Ranch Veterinary Hospital recommended we contact Becky Lewis at Motiv K9 Fitness Therapy for possible Laser Therapy treatments for JR’s back.  Becky’s initial treatment included three Laser Therapy treatments per week, and confinement to a dog kennel to limit his movements, to help with the healing process.

As JR’s condition improved, his movement was increased, and the Laser Therapy treatments were reduced to one per week.  Today, JR receives one Laser Therapy treatment per month and Water Treadmill as preventative maintenance.

He walks with us now ¾ of a mile every day with no restrictions to his movement. We do watch to make sure JR does not do a lot of jumping or running up and down stairs as the impact could cause additional damage to his back.

To make a long story short, thanks to Becky Lewis at Motiv K9 Fitness Therapy and Laser Therapy Treatments, JR has had a good quality of life for an additional four years, and still going strong.

We have so enjoyed his companionship for this additional time.
